درباره دین جهانی
چشمانداز ویوکاناندا از دین جهانی نه آفرینش آیینی نو برای جایگزینی آیینهای موجود، بلکه بازشناسی آن بود که همه ادیان راههای گوناگونی هستند که به یک حقیقت غایی میانجامند. این ایده که در پارلمان ادیان ۱۸۹۳ شیکاگو به یادماندنیترین شکل اعلام شد، بر بصیرت ودانتایی استوار است که الهی بیکران را هیچ صورت، نام یا کتاب واحدی نمیتواند در بر گیرد. او فراخواند که هر دینی روح دیگر ادیان را جذب کند در عین حفظ هویت خویش، و بدینسان کشمکش فرقهای را به هماهنگی ایمانها تبدیل کند.
