女性について
ヴィヴェーカーナンダは女性の地位向上を率直に訴え、一国の進歩はその国の女性の状態によって測ることができると宣言しました。アートマンは性別を超えるというヴェーダーンタの原理に基づいて、女性の教育、経済的自立、霊的平等を擁護しました。彼は女性が主導する社会向上の運動を構想し、ヴェーダ時代に女性が占めていた尊い地位を回復しないかぎり、インドに永続的な改革はありえないと主張しました。
