Mobile App Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 27, 2026

The Vivekananda Archive mobile app (iOS and Android) is operated by Vivekananda Archive. This page describes what the app does — and does not — do with your information.

Short version

The app collects nothing. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.

What the app does NOT do

  • Collect personal information of any kind.
  • Send any data to our servers or to third parties.
  • Use analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs.
  • Track you across apps or websites.
  • Require an account, an email, or a login.
  • Use the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
  • Show the App Tracking Transparency prompt — because we do not track.

What is stored on your device

  • Bookmarks you save.
  • The chapter you last opened.
  • Your reading progress in each chapter (scroll position and percent read).
  • Your theme and font-size preferences.

This data uses the operating system's standard private storage (AsyncStorage, which on iOS sits on top of UserDefaults and on Android sits on top of SharedPreferences). It never leaves your device, and it is removed when you uninstall the app.

Network use

All reading content is bundled inside the app and works fully offline. The only optional network call is the link to this website on the About screen, which opens in your browser. If you do not tap that link, the app makes no network requests.

Children's privacy

The app is appropriate for all ages and does not request information from any user, including children.
